Suggestions for your pairings...
by: Matt from Wine-In-A-Glass

OK Heather, looks like you have a good variety of wine for your tasting. Here are my votes for food pairings...

For the Rosso, go with something a little spicy (maybe a shrimp or chicken satay), or an acidic food like ceviche.

With the Riesling, you pretty much have free reign. Crab cakes, avocado, oysters, whatever, it's hard to go wrong with a Riesling.

For your other whites, go with something like a full-flavored pork or chicken appetizer. Stay away from rich creamy sauces.

For your Cabs, go with a heavy meat like beef or duck. Don't be afraid to use fruity sauces or even wine-based sauces. Same for the Merlot.

Grilled meat also goes well with Malbec. Or, try pizza! (one of my favorite pairings)

With your dessert wine, of course you have to go with chocolate! (or if you're really daring and creative, some other dessert, but make sure it's sweet).

Have fun and good luck with your wine tasting. Let us know how it goes!

-Matt
