Paso Robles Wineries

Over the last few years, the Paso Robles wineries and the surrounding central coast has become known as a world-class wine region. The wineries of this region consistently produce award-winning wine, and Paso offers a great getaway for wine lovers of all kinds!

In addition to the Paso wineries, there is a variety of vineyards and wineries, and tasting scattered all over the central coast, from Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo to San Miguel.

The central coast wineries outside of Paso have been building a growing reputation in their own right. The sights off Highway 101 on the central coast of California are some of the most beautiful in the country, so take the scenic route when heading to Paso. You won't be disappointed.

Paso Events

Paso Robles Wine Festival!
The annual Paso Robles Wine Festival is the marquee wine tasting event held along California's Central Coast during the summer. Experience a weekend where wine tasting meets culinary delight; a weekend where the simple pleasures of wine, artisans, great food and good company come together among the oaks and in the sun.

The Paso Wine Festival features more than 90 wineries pouring their best in the quaint Paso Robles Downtown City Park. Wine country cuisine and artisan foods are a true complement to the more than 400 wines being featured at this celebration. Music will resonate through the park on this spring day and the only thing missing is you.

Wine Tasting
Let your palate point the way through the park in search of your new favorite Paso Robles wine or stay true to those you know. Either way you are sure to have a good time discovering the unique wines of Paso Robles in this unlimited tasting format.

Paso Wine Tours

There are tons of great Paso Robles wineries, and like any great wine country, they are spread out all over the place. I have explored the Paso Robles wineries extensively during the five years or so that I lived in the area, and I can tell you that the best way to do Paso is on a wine tour or limo.

While it is possible to find your own way around, it is much better to have a professional driver who knows the best wineries and where they are. For a small amount of money (not much more than gas money), forget about who has to drive and who needs to print out directions! Hire a limo or wine bus from one of the wine tour companies in the area.

Tobin James Cellars

Tobin James Winery

Belly up to the grand 140-year-old bar and taste Paso Robles in a glass of award-winning wine. Tobin James crafts intense fruit driven wines; Zinfandels, Cabs, Syrah, Chardonnay, Merlot, the velvety "Liquid Love" Dessert Zinfandel, and many others. Bring your picnic. Join the legendary James Gang! Open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily. Located on Hwy. 46 East, nine miles east of Highway 101.

Built from the ground up on the site of an old stagecoach stop, it might seem more natural to stroll into the old-western-style saloon, place your booted foot on the brass rail of the bar, and order a shot of whiskey from the bartender. But in the Tobin James tasting room, award-winning wines are poured from behind the grand, antique 1860's Brunswick mahogany bar from Blue Eye, Missouri.

In describing the antiques and rarities that fill the tasting room, Toby says, "There are ghosts attached to some of this stuff. I bet there's been a lot of wild conversations across that old bar, and a lot of deals that went down..."

Robert Hall Winery

Robert Hall WInery

Discover the essence of the Paso Robles Wineries with a visit to the Robert Hall Winery Hospitality Center. Taste award-winning wines, tour their underground wine caverns - the largest on the Central Coast or enjoy a game of bocce ball on one of their regulation courts. Robert Hall's wedding/special events venue features the Meritage dining room, an open-air amphitheater, garden terrace and a courtyard with a reflecting pool and fountains.

Tucked into the hillsides east of Paso, along California's enchanting Central Coast, lies a dream 40 years in the making. This is Robert Hall Winery, where years of hard work and infinite attention to detail are invested into every bottle of wine made. As farmers first, the goal is to nurture the land and coax from it the finest fruit possible from the vineyards on the Hall Ranch -- each with its own personality and each expressing unique nuances that strive to capture the essence of Paso Robles.

After traveling to several winegrowing regions throughout the United States and France, Robert Hall and Margaret settled in Paso Robles. Their goal - to produce an ultra-premium wine in this wine region known for its diverse terroir. Robert Hall first purchased the land for his "Home Vineyard" in 1995.

Today, Robert and Margaret have established very solid roots in Paso Robles. Throughout the years, their family members have joined them in this ever-growing wine community, including Robert "Rob" Hall III. Rob has also acquired a passion for the wine industry, learning it from the vineyards to the cellar, and now promotes the brand nationally. Robert Hall Winery is the result of an old-fashioned work ethic combined with traditional winemaking techniques, state-of-the-art equipment and a team of dedicated professionals. Robert invites all to drop by for a visit to discover the essence of Paso Robles wineries.
