Red Wine Cake Recipe
This red wine cake recipe delivers a savory chocolate cake with just a hint of wine flavor. A rum glaze on top makes it to die for!
Ingredients
-2 cups sugar
-1 1/4 cup butter
-4 eggs
-1 tsp cinnamon
-2 tbs cocoa
-4 oz unsweetened chocolate, grated
-2 cups flour
-3/4 cup red wine
-3 1/2 tsp baking powder
Directions Beat softened butter, eggs and sugar until creamy. Add cinnamon, cocoa and grated chocolate, baking powder and flour. Mix well. Add red wine. Pour into greased baking form (loaf pan). Bake at 350-390 degrees for 1 hour. Rum Glaze -1/4 lb butter -1 cup sugar -1/4 cup water -1/2 cup dark rum Melt the butter in a pan. Stir in the water and sugar. Boil for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in the rum. Drizzle the glaze onto the red wine cake.
