Red Wine Stain Removal
Looking for tips for red wine stain removal? You probably already know how damaging wine stains can be if not treated immediately. Whether the stain is on clothing or carpet, the most important thing is to get to it immediately with a dry towel or napkin. If you can at least blot the stain right away, there's a good chance that you can get rid of it completely.
Clothing: Wine Stain Removal
Blot the stain IMMEDIATELY with a dry, clean white towel or paper towel. DO NOT wipe or rub the stain, as this will just push it into the fabric. If it is a dry-clean only shirt or garment, DO NOT treat the stain, just blot it immediately and get it to the dry-cleaners as soon as possible. Treating it with any kind of soap or chemicals will damage your garment. For normal clothing, after initial blotting, dip a clean white towel or paper towel in a mixture of detergent and hydrogen peroxide and gently blot the stain with it. This mix should lift most of the stain out of the fabric.Wash the garment in cold water, or gently hand wash if it is hand-wash only.
Carpet: Red Wine Stain Removal

Just like with clothing, getting to the stain immediately is key. If you get to it right away, you should have no problem getting the stain out. First, blot with a clean dry white towel or paper towel. I don't recommend using a color towel, as the color could potentially bleed into your carpet.Mix up a small bowl with hydrogen peroxide and laundry detergent, shampoo, or dish soap (any will work). Dip a towel or sponge into the soapy mixture and gently dab and blot the stain with it. Do this until the stain has disappeared.Note: If you have oxy clean or a commercial stain remover, this will work just as good or better than the home-made mixture. Once the stain is gone, blot the area with water then with a dry towel to dry off the area. Voila!
