Sangria Recipe: Original
Sangria is a fruity wine drink popular with tourists in southern Spain and Portugal. It has gained popularity in the United States recently and is now one of the most requested drink recipes. This particular Sangria recipe is the closest I could find to the original Spanish-style Sangria. This recipe makes 4 glasses.
Ingredients
-4 cups red wine (pref. dry Spanish wine)
-1 tbsp sugar
-1 lemon, sliced
-1 orange, sliced
-Juice squeezed from 1 lemon
-2 peaches, peeled and cut into cubes
-1 cup club soda
Directions Combine the ingredients (minus the club soda) in a large punch bowl or pitcher and mix well. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (this lets the fruit soak up the wine). Before serving, mix in the club soda for fizzy carbonation. Serve with ice cubes. Salud!
Have a Great Wine Recipe?
I don't have the time to invest gathering 100 more recipes, and I also don't want my site to become too one-dimensional by only having my own personal recipes. So I want people to contribute their favorite recipes and vote or comment on the best. This will allow my visitors (that's you!) to share their favorite recipes, contribute content, vote, experiment, and receive kudos from fellow visitors on their grandma's best recipe. It's a win-win for everyone. I get really good additional content and my visitors get to be part of the community!
