Essential Wine Books
There have been volumes of wine books written about wine tasting and selection, grape fermentation, grape selection, food pairing, health benefits, regions and specific wineries, history, and on and on... You could probably consider yourself a true wine-ologist if you have read them all. I personally have read quite a few (you can see that it's a hobby of mine) and have recommended a few of my favorites. To help you wade through all of my recommended books I have separated them into several categories. So, if you are looking for a book on wine making for example, you can go to that page where I have separated all of the books on that subject. On this page below you will find some of my general recommended books. These are a few good reads from all different categories that I guarantee will be interesting to anyone, regardless of their wine experience. I just finished reading Judgment of Paris: California vs. France and the Historic 1976 Paris Tasting That Revolutionized Wine, which is a really interesting read about a tasting contest in the 70's in France where American wines surprised everyone by beating out the French. It is a great reminder to keep an open mind and never turn your nose up at a wine regardless of price or region.
